Case Study FAQs

What am I responsible for?

Inductive Automation’s multimedia team writes the case study and travels to film the video at the end user’s location (if applicable). You are responsible for telling us about the project, being interviewed (on camera, if applicable), as well as reviewing and approving what IA produces.

Can I submit an application without approval from the end user?

Yes. While end user approval is necessary for all case studies, we can be creative, whether that means not naming the end user, producing a written-only case study, or opting to film screen captures for a more application-focused Project Highlight video instead.

Who can submit a case study?

Generally, we only have resources to pursue case studies for integrators at the Premier and Gold levels of our Integrator Program or end users. However, highly unique projects will also be considered.

Who should I contact if I have any questions about case studies?

Please email Aaron Block, Inductive Automation’s Case Study Program Manager, at ablock@inductiveautomation.com.

Can I submit more than one case study application at a time?

We only produce one case study at a time per integrator. If you have multiple projects that could make for promising case studies, we are happy to discuss which project would be the best fit.

What is the time commitment for a case study?

Case studies require an initial hour-long meeting to discuss the details of the project and logistics of filming, if applicable. All interviews and filming will be conducted over one to two days. Once the case study is complete, all video and written material will then be submitted for integrator and end user approval before publication. This entire process usually takes several weeks.

What does Inductive Automation do with case studies?

Case studies are published in the Resources section of the Inductive Automation website. Additionally, they are shared in IA’s weekly newsletter, social media accounts, and a single-subject email.

Can I have my case study for my own use?

Inductive Automation provides all applicable URLs to integrators and end users and gives permission to reshare and/or repurpose case studies so long as proper credit is given. Original files can be made available upon request.
